The God of the Bible is the one true God. Represented in the Trinity of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
How do we know this? Because it’s evidenced by Jesus Christ, a man known to have lived. His crucifixion is one of the most well known historical facts. But also, he came back to life after three days, was seen by over 500 people and ascended into heaven.
This distinguishes him from other religious figures and religious claims. In John 14:6: “Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” So no matter what religion you subscribe to, no matter what denomination you claim to be a part of, nothing matters except Christ and the biblical truth that only he can save you, nothing else.
Below is the “Roman’s Road” to salvation. It is a scriptural device by which we explain the Gospel and human beings requirement to respond to it. All of these scriptural principles are reiterated throughout the Bible, but this method is articulate, precise and efficient.
- Romans 3:23 – All humans have sinned.
- Romans 6:23 – The consequence of sin is death/punishment, but God offers life.
- Romans 5:8 – Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
- Romans 10:9-10 – Confess and believe to be saved.
- Romans 10:13 – Salvation is for all who call on the Lord.
- Romans 5:1 – Peace with God.
- Romans 8:1 – No condemnation.
